Local networks – Efficient communication is based on a powerful and scalable local network that requires only little initial investment and is often referred to as a campus network. RUCKUS ICX switches make this approach a reality. Multiple series of devices, including no equipment larger than 1U, make it possible to build modern networks supporting the latest standards and serving as a basis for dynamic services and applications developed for such networks.
What are RUCKUS ICX predecessors? These devices have descended directly from campus network veterans such as Brocade and earlier Foundry Networks.
What makes RUCKUS ICX switches different from other solutions? The ICX switches make it possible to built stacks of as many as 12 switches. Connections within a stack can be provided locally, via DAC cables, or at a distance of up to 10 km using fiber-optic cables. A number of high-availability mechanisms in various layers can be chosen for RUCKUS ICX switches: from the Multi-Chassis Trunking physical redundancy which consists in building a cluster of two independent devices, totally different from the stack of switches, to VRRP/VRRP-E and the advanced layer of dynamic routing protocols.
The usability of the interface for managing the network environment is also important, preferably including the Wi-Fi network from a single interface of RUCKUS SmartZone or RUCKUS Cloud controller.
ICX7150 access switches – from passive compact 8/10/12-port models to typical rack-mounted 24- and 48-port units. The units offer advanced L3 functionality, optionally multi-gigabit 1/2.5/5/10G RJ45 ports, high-power PoH/802.3bt up to 90 W per port, and uplink/stacking ports based on multiple 10G SFP+.
ICX 7550/7650 aggregation and advanced access switches – high-performance models offering multi-gigabit RJ45 ports, high-power PoE 802.3bt with Perpetual PoE and Fast-boot PoE, uplink ports, 40/100 Gbps QSFP28 stack, and MACsec.
ICX 7850 core and ToR switches – for the most demanding environments, with everything that lower series offer, available with 32 x 40/100G QSFP28 and 48 x 10G RJ45, 48 x 1/10/25G SFP28, with additional 8 x 40/100G QSFP28 ports per unit.
